It all began in 1884, in Monthermé, in the heart of the Ardennes. SEFAC was founded as a manufacturer of bolts and nuts for the railway industry. In 1968, the company took a decisive turn and specialised in heavy-duty lifting equipment, an expertise recognised for over 60 years, and far beyond French borders.
Since then, SEFAC has evolved, but its values have remained unchanged: strong values, a close-knit team, and people first and above all. Commitment, respect, excellence, trust and innovation are the pillars of a corporate culture built day after day by the men and women who are its true strength.

A responsible and people-focused commitment
SEFAC is committed to a responsible approach by prioritising ‘Made in France’ production and local suppliers, while designing long-lasting equipment built to optimise its lifecycle.
The company is also engaged in a circular economy approach. End-of-life mobile column lifts are collected, refurbished and then resold at a reduced price. When they cannot be reconditioned, their materials are reused in the manufacture of new equipment. Today, SEFAC products are 99% recyclable.
This approach is assessed by EcoVadis, an international reference in CSR, which recognises SEFAC’s commitments in environmental, ethical, social and responsible purchasing practices.
